Darkness surrounds Roberta is a new, low-budgeted flick that is a homage to the Giallo genre.
Roberta is a nice-looking slutty bitch who was once a celebrated artist who liked to painted weird stuff (don't they all?). Nowadays, she is content with spending her days indulging in kinky sex and stealing jewelry for thrill. One day she is kidnapped by a deranged masked man who turned out to be an admirer of her art. This guy is willing to do anything in order to re-awaken her artistic talents, including making a lot of people dead and not alive.
If there is a lesson to be learned from this movie it is that you should not sleep with an art chick. Artists ain't safe to be around. Most of them are freaking weirdos, like that guy, what's his name again, Van Dame or something, who cut his ear off for kicks.
OK nudity and simulated sex.
Unless you're fan of Giallo, don't bother with this flick.
